“Rustic” is the kind of word that is similar to “whimsy;” you don’t always want to use it because it can have rather negative overtones, but sometimes it just really applies. In fact the post we got these photos and information from, Tool & Tack, totally described Brian Chilton’s work as rustic and modern (that we didn’t see until after we wrote the sentence above), which totally means we’re way right about it. Anyone who’s a fan of the furniture at Austin’s hip restaurant Contigo will notice it looks familiar — he built the pieces you see there, from chairs, to high stools, to long family-style tables, to benches and more.
