Last time I looked there were trees | The Courier-Mail

Occasionally, while researching articles for the RA, I will come across a story that will make my: skin crawl/jaw unhinge/head explode.

(I also let slip the dogs of some serious foul language)

This article on logged forests by The Courier Mail  took me to the limit today.

Yes, I am asking you to connect a few more dots from koala habitat loss in Australia, to building material reuse here in the USA – but not by much people.

We know that we reduce the need for new materials by reusing existing ones.  We can now add koalas to the list of interested parties.

“Koalas would have been moved out of their homes in preparation for planned logging activities,” WIRES NSW general manager Leanne Taylor said.

“It is common for koalas to roam back to their home range afterwards and become confused to find nothing there.

“A worker noticed a koala had been sitting stationary in broad daylight on top of wood piles for over an hour.”
