Selected as a top 20 semi-finalists out of thousands of entrants in the Intuit Small Business Big Game contest, Urban Wood Goods, had it won would have received a 30-second spot, with Intuit covering the cost of development, production and advertising time.

That type of exposure during America’s top sporting spectacle would have been “game-changing,” said Erin True, Urban Wood Goods co-owner, in a statement. “We’re different from other furniture manufacturers in that we salvage all of the lumber use to make our furniture,” she said. “It’s got a history, and it has quite a lot of character. It had a former life before we turned it into furniture.”
