The Prahran Hotel isn’t actually a hotel at all; it’s a pub, and an amazing one at that. Renovations were recently completed on the project, and it’s up and running with a giant street-facing wall made from concrete pipes that now serve as booths.

The renovation was designed by Melbourne-based Techné Architects, who incorporated natural materials, reclaimed wood, interior plants and lots of natural lighting.

Within this cycle of construction and deconstruction there is always waste, a lot of waste. This is where upcyclers can make a difference. Intercepting the “waste” and transforming it into something new and useful, before it is sent to a recycling center to be further broken down.
