We recently got an email from Bruce Hanamura of The Design Pallet. He is working on an interesting reuse project. In his own words:
A few months back I got a hold of some very old work benches and bins from the now closed Millwork Supply Company that was here in Seattle since 1967. Made from some wonderful old growth Douglas Fir. Lots of cut outs, nails, etc. They were all worse for the wear but, I am going to be giving them new life as a few dining tables and other smaller side/coffee tables. My plan is to make a traditional table piece, and then some more modern versions keeping with the aesthetic of the Design Pallet – modern, organic but with a hint of mid-centruy. I will doing a bit of a photo essay as I work on them in the coming weeks and thought this might be something right in RA wheelhouse.
And it is! We will be following Bruce’s work over the span of the project with his rich pictures and descriptions. Thank you Bruce!
