I love repurposed furnishings, especially vintage furniture pieces that gives off a retro industrial feel. A pretty cool piece we’ve been seeing repurposed recently are architectural flat files…those heavy steel cabinets used for storing architect plans and blueprint. Check out this piece by REHAB Vintage Interiors in Los Angeles. They take a short flat file, put casters and a glass top on it, and viola…instant coffee table with mucho storage.
Since architectural plans and blueprints are being stored digitally these days, there’s plenty of people selling their flat files on craigslist. Have you repurposed a flat file in your office space? Please share your stories and pics with us…we’d love to see!
